Fire Sprinkler System Maintenance & Testing

Fire Sprinkler systems have been the most effective form of fire protection for decades, but they must be inspected, tested and maintained in accordance with the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association and the Authority Having Jurisdiction.

Inspection:

Fire sprinkler systems are required to be inspected in accordance with NFPA 25. An inspection is a visual examination of a water-based fire protection system, or portion thereof to verify that it appears to be in operating condition and is free of physical damage. Our highly trained technicians can inspect and service all types of sprinkler systems. We can also provide training in the proper use and maintenance of your system so in a fire situation everyone will be prepared to respond appropriately.

Testing:

A procedure to determine the status of a system by conducting physical checks on water-based fire protection systems such as water-flow tests, fire pump tests and trip tests of dry pipe, deluge, or pre-action valves.

5 Year Certification

A thorough examination of your entire system that includes a complete inspection, back flush of your fire department connection, water flow alarm testing, service of all components, interior inspection of the riser. This code compliant test insures the integrity of the system.

Annual Certification

A comprehensive test that involves water-flow tests, supervisory switch testing, trip tests of dry pipe, deluge, or pre-action systems and full service work to your system

Quarterly Inspections

A routine required inspection that involves all steps outlined in NFPA 25 that involves inspection and service that promotes a reliable fire sprinkler system and gives you peace of mind.

Microbiological Influenced Corrosion (MIC)

NFPA 25 requires an obstruction inspection every 5 years or when there is evidence of rust, foreign debris, untreated water or pinhole leaks among other things. Further, it requires that if any tubercles or slimes are observed, they shall be tested for indications of MIC. (NFPA 25-2002 Section 13.2.1.2). Nor-Cal Fire will test your system to ensure its integrity with a combination of bacterial type and relative concentration testing, plus testing of the water for various chemical and physical properties associated with aggressive microbial growth. Fire Pump Testing

Our experienced and highly trained technicians provide accurate churn and flow testing as required by NFPA 25.

Fire Standpipe Systems - Wet, Dry, Combination

We use our Crown pumper fire engine to do 5-Year hydrostatic pressure and flow testing. These life saving tests simulate actual fire department events that take place during a fire. We are one of the very few companies that use a fire engine for the most real and accurate testing of standpipe systems.
